Does anyone here besides our resident Republican, volkris, want to rise in support of this new TSA policy?
Less than 24 hours after the terrorist attempt, travelers at airports around the world, from Frankfurt to Rochester, N.Y., began experiencing heightened screening in security lines. Even as airlines began limiting United States-bound passengers to just one carry-on bag, travelers will feel the most significant changes during the actual flights.
According to a statement posted Saturday morning on Air Canada’s Web site, the Transportation Security Administration will severely limit the behavior of both passengers and crew during flights in United States airspace — restricting movement in the final hour of flight. Late Saturday morning, the T.S.A. had not yet included this new information on its own Web site.
“Among other things,” the statement in Air Canada’s Web site read, “during the final hour of flight customers must remain seated, will not be allowed to access carry-on baggage, or have personal belongings or other items on their laps.” If you stay in the United States, you deserve everything that's coming your way.

Hello everybody (and a belated Merry Christmas, if that's your thing).
I'm visiting my parents for the holidays, and this morning my Dad found a guinea pig in his warehouse. The poor guy is just skin and bones so my Mom is going to try and fatten him up but she does NOT want to keep him.
If the guinea pig is healthy and disease free, I was thinking of taking him home as a friend for Signy, but I'm not sure how well guinea pigs and rabbits get along. I tried looking it up online and I found one site saying it's fine and another saying it's a bad idea.
Has anyone tried too bond a rabbit and a guinea pig before?

Hi, I just got a baby bunny yesterday as a christmas gift from my boyfriend. This is my first pet, and i think i'm more nervous then the rabbit LOL! Its been one day...
but anyways he's three months old and i have a few questions. 1) People said to put newspaper, now his paws are all inked up and he refuses to take take a shower or bath and keeps getting scared 2) I've tried cardboard and shavings and newspaper for his bedding but he keeps chewing it trashing it and tearing it. is this bad? will he digest it? 3) He eats when i feed him with my hands otherwise he'll ignore the food and will chew on cardboard instead 4) I've let him out around the house because he's so jumpy and active and wants out, and he got into a few dirty spots though i tried to stop him and now he continuously is either cleaning himself or scratching himself. Is this normal? How do i clean him? 5) I don't know how to litter tain him!! I put a box there with shavings and a bit of poop and his food.. but no luck. 6) He hates being picked up, i understand that, but how do i get him back in the cage and why is he so jumpy and ripping his cage into pieces is happy and just playing around or is he mad?
does he need to be neutered i don't know.. i'm really confused.
Please help!!!

Hey everybody! I posted in here earlier this month about my rabbit Signy, who is around 5 or 6 months and started leaving droppings around the house after I went out of town a few days.
Anyway, today she peed outside her litterbox, which is something she'd never done before!
I'm wondering if this is stemming from the same issue of her not being fixed, or if I'm doing something wrong? I try not to pull her out of her cage or force her back in, as I read that was important in litter training. Also, she always has access to her cage and her litter box.
I really don't want her to get into the habit of not using her box. This is also my first time with a house rabbit and dealing with these problems, so if you think I might be doing something wrong or not doing something I should be please let me know!
It's shitty webcam quality, but here's a picture to jazz this post up a little:

| looking for LOST RPG characters |
[22 Dec 2009|06:56pm] |
I am part of a multi-fandom RPG game, plentyofroom (I play Kate Austen) and we're in need of some more LOSTies! A couple people specifically mentioned wanting a Sawyer in the game, but any and all LOST characters would be more than welcome. I've put the info about the game under the cut:

| Thought some here may want to know ... Michael Badnarik is unconscious and in serious condition |
[22 Dec 2009|04:04pm] |
Your prayers are needed at this time for Michael Badnarik.
Jessica,
I just received word that the President of the 2009 Continental Congress and 2004 Presidential candidate for the Libertarian Party, Michael Badnarik had a Heart Attack this morning and in an unconscious state. His condition is serious.
His Mother, Elaine, reported to me that Michael was in Madison, Wisconsin attending a hearing regarding a raw milk case. After the hearing he got in a car to go to lunch with friends, He then slumped over. His friends attempted CPR and contacted the paramedics. They attempted to revive him 3 times with no success. Upon the 4th attempt his heart was revived yet with erratic behavior.
He was taken by helicopter to Gunderson Lutheran Hospital CCU in Lacrosse, WI. Please do no call or visit the hospital, only family is allowed.
He has been fitted with a temporary pacemaker and a balloon pump to ease stress on his heart.
I have no further details at this time. Please watch your email box for an update.
Michael is a true asset and leader in our movement who works tirelessly and selflessly for freedom. Please pray for Michael at this time.
In Freedom,
Gary Franchi National Director Restore the Republic

| New Caledonia: only wise policy would lead to independence. |
[21 Dec 2009|06:33pm] |
I suppose, every libertarian should be against any state invasion in any issues. But the worst kind of state invasion is when one state impose its colonial rule to another nation. Therefore, I guess, every true libertarian has to support the fair struggle of Pacific Unity League for independance. If you can't or don't wish go to NC, then you might support PUL by donation.
This large Pacific island was discovered by James Cook in 1774, and named Caledonia, the ancient name of Scotland, Cook's homeland. Favorable island climatic conditions and fertile soil had attracted the interest of European colonizers - traders, planters and missionaries. In 1853 France announced the island its colony. Then within 30 years the French government had deported many convicted criminals to New Caledonia.
The struggle for independence of the Kanak people, indigenous people of New Caledonia, has a long and glorious history. A new stage of this struggle began in 1985 when “Kanak and Socialist National Liberation Front”, led by the outstanding son of the Kanak people Jean-Marie Tjibaou, started its activity. FLNKS had advocated the establishment of an independent Kanak state. The events on the Ouvéa Island in 1988 became culmination of the struggle. FLNKS fighters had taken hostage 27 French gendarmes and judge and demanded immediate independence. The French colonial authorities sent a special commando unit. As a result of bloody clashes, the rebels were forced to let gendarmes off. Jean-Marie Tjibaou was assassinated. But the colonizers realized that they can not longer maintain their dominance in the previous form and made some concessions.
According to the Matignon (1988) and Nouméa (1998) Accord, New Caledonia

| Beth has a skin problem |

Grieving heavily for the loss of my Arthur, I convinced Beth to let me cuddle her. This is a very rare thing - she'll accept nose and ear rubs but nothing more.
I felt lumps, and examined the skin. It looks a lot like my eczema does, to be honest. It's lumpy, red, scaly and has dried blood, but she didn't get too upset when I was touching it.
I have taken pictures, if anyone has any clue what this is please comment. I shall try to get a cab to the vet tomorrow (the pavements here are a solid sheet of ice - I have fallen on my butt already, and had a few near-misses too). If no-one can take me I shall phone the vet for advice and just wait out the weather.
I've spent £400 on Arthur's illness and now I have to shell out for Beth too - and I lost my job this month. I'm so glad I have insurance!
